Sea World Cruises Terminal

Sea World Departure Location

Located in Main Beach, Sea World Cruises Terminal is the landing point for our Buffet Dinner Cruise, Whale Watching Cruise and Private Charters. This is also where our Sunset Function Deck is located and our Guest Services Team is headquartered. While you’re here, peruse the selection of souvenirs and coastal homeware from our Gift Shop. Enjoy a bite to eat, or a refreshing beverage, from the Sandbar Cafe – situated against a backdrop of uninterrupted views of the Gold Coast Broadwater.

Getting Here

Sea World Cruises Terminal is located next to the main entrance of the Sea World Marine Park. It can be easily accessed by public transport. A drop-off zone is available adjacent to the main entrance. For more information and public transport journey planning visit Getting Here.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available 30 metres from the Sea World Cruises Terminal entrance, with additional spaces near the Sea World Theme Park entrance. These are clearly marked with the International Symbol of Access (ISA) and available to guests with a valid disability parking permit.

Terminal Entrance

The Sea World Cruises Terminal can be accessed via a staircase that is 3 metres wide, consisting of three steps, each 0.16 metres high. Handrails are provided on both sides at a height of 0.9 metres.

An alternative step-free access route is available via a DDA-compliant ramp. The ramp is 1.2 metres wide, with a rise of 1 metre. Handrails are also installed along the ramp. The surface is slip-resistant and suitable for mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, and prams.

The entrance door to the terminal is 1.9 metres wide and has a low threshold with a sill height of 0.02 metres, allowing easy wheelchair access. The door is manually operated.

Terminal Navigation

The Sea World Cruises Terminal is single-level and step-free throughout the interior. The reception desk is 1.2 metres high, and the café counter is 0.9 metres high. Entry to the sunset deck is through a wide, open doorway measuring 4.7 metres.

Priority Check-in

At the time of booking, please inform our friendly reservations team if you require any assistance. We offer priority check-in and first boarding onto the vessel for guests with access needs.

Priority Seating

There is ample seating available on the terminal deck to suit a variety of needs, including lounges, high and low chairs, and tables designed for passenger comfort.

Restrooms

To access the restrooms, guests will need to turn into a corridor that is 1.45 metres wide, then turn again to reach the male, female, or accessible restroom entrances.

The Unisex Accessible Toilet is accessible via a corridor that is 1.37 metres wide, or 0.98 metres wide when a hallway table is present. After this, guests will turn into another corridor that is 1.4 metres wide and 2.86 metres long. The doorway to the accessible restroom is 0.83 metres wide.

Inside the accessible restroom:

  • The room measures 2.83 metres in depth and 1.85 metres in width.
  • Grab rails beside the toilet are 0.8 metres high, with the highest point at 1.25 metres.
  • The toilet seat height is 0.45 metres.
  • The toilet paper holder is positioned at a height of 1 metre.
  • The tap is 0.95 metres high.

The standard female restroom includes two stalls. The standard male restroom includes one urinal and one stall.

Baby change facilities are available within the accessible restrooms.

Access to Wharf

The wharf can be accessed via a flight of nine steps, each 0.17 metres high and 1.3 metres wide, with a handrail on one side at a height of 0.9 metres.

An accessibility lift is available to travel from the sundeck to the pontoon access ramp. The lift measures 1.04 metres in width and 1.4 metres in depth, with handrails at 0.9 metres high. Control buttons are positioned at a height of 0.89 metres. The lift has a maximum weight capacity of 340kg. Due to its location, operation requires assistance from our reservations team or onboard crew.

Alternatively, the wharf can be accessed from the car park via a door located alongside the building. Our friendly reservations team is available to assist with directions or entry if needed.

Wharf Navigation

Guests access the pontoon via a jetty ramp, which is 1.5 metres wide at its narrowest point and features handrails at a height of 0.9 metres. The steepness of the ramp may change with the tide, and it can be more difficult to access when tides are shifting. Assistance may be required for individuals to get onto the ramp during these times. Our friendly crew are available to assist as needed.

The ramp leading onto the pontoon from the jetty has a depth of 0.66 metres and a width of 1.62 metres. The distance from the ramp to the water is 2.15 metres.

There is also a steel walkway that is 1.2 metres wide, narrowing to 1.1 metres at its narrowest point. The handrail height is 0.9 metres, with the steepest incline measuring 0.75 metres. This walkway provides access to the Hopo Gold Coast Ferry.
