Spirit of Elston

Gold Coast’s Premier Sightseeing & Dining Vessel

Spirit of Elston showcases the best of the Gold Coast waterways accompanied by the finest regional flavours and a fully stocked onboard bar. Our calm water experiences; Buffet Lunch Cruises, Buffet Dinner Cruises, Special Event Cruises and some Private Charters take place on this generally accessible vessel.

Boarding

Access to the Spirit of Elston is via a ramp measuring 0.8 metres wide and 1.6 metres long, with handrails on both sides at a height of 0.92 metres. The ramp supports a maximum weight of 300 kg. Guests with disabilities are offered priority boarding, and our crew are available to assist if needed.

Lower Deck Navigation

The lower deck is wheelchair accessible and features large windows to maximise views of the stunning waterways. The main entrance is 2.05 metres wide with a 6 cm high ramped lip. The dining configuration is low-set for ease of access.

Inside tables measure 0.7 x 0.7 metres and are 0.76 metres high. Balcony tables (weather dependent) measure 0.6 x 0.6 metres and are 0.73 metres high. Chairs are slightly reclining, 0.39 metres wide at their narrowest point, and 0.46 metres high with backrests.

Please note: seating configurations may vary for Special Event Cruises. For more information about these experiences, contact Guest Services.

Top Deck Navigation

Access to the top deck is via a staircase with 11 steps, each measuring 0.95 metres wide, 0.2 metres high, and 0.27 metres deep. Handrails are provided on both sides at a height of 1.1 metres.

The top deck features a coastal garden bar atmosphere with a variety of seating options, including daybeds, lounges, picnic benches, and tables designed for passenger comfort. Handrails surround the top deck at a height of 1.06 metres.

Mobility Aids

Mobility aids are welcome. Please ensure your mobility aid conforms with the manoeuvrability specifications of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002.

Restrooms

There are no ambulant or accessible restrooms onboard. Facilities include two standard female toilet cubicles, one male toilet cubicle, and one male urinal cubicle.

At the Surfers Paradise departure location, a unisex ambulant toilet is available nearby at Appel Park. For more information, please view the Surfers Paradise Departure Location page.

At the Sea World location, a unisex accessible restroom is available at our dedicated check-in terminal. For more details, refer to the Sea World Cruises Terminal page.

Strollers

Due to limited space onboard, we kindly ask that strollers and prams are not brought onto the vessel. If you are departing from our Sea World Cruises Terminal at Main Beach, we can store your stroller for the duration of your cruise.

High Chairs

Complimentary high chairs are available onboard for children aged 6 to 36 months and weighing up to 15 kg. Availability is limited, so we recommend pre-booking with Guest Services.

Visual Considerations

At night, the lower deck is softly lit, while the top deck has low and uneven lighting, which may be challenging to navigate for guests with low or impaired vision. Our crew are available to assist if needed. Assistance Animals are welcome aboard.

Auditory Considerations

Cruises have a lively atmosphere and may include pre-recorded music, live commentary, or performances by a live musician. This may make conversation challenging for some guests who are hard of hearing. Please note that hearing loops are not installed on the Spirit of Elston at this time.

Sensory Considerations

A dedicated sensory room or chill-out space is not available onboard. However, sensory kits – including pop bubble fidget toys and earplugs – are available. Complimentary children’s activity packs are also provided. For more information, please refer to our Sensory Guide

Environmental Considerations

The Spirit of Elston operates on calm, inshore waterways with minimal motion, making seasickness unlikely. However, if you would like to take precautions, please refer to our Seasickness Advice.
